Prerequisites: BIOL 3411 or CHEM 4404
An overview of the prinicples of plant and animal genetics, including Mendelian and modern concepts of heredity. Developement in molecular genetics will be addressed through the chemistry and physiology of the gene and the nature of gene action in prokaryotic cells. Three hourse lecture and two hours laboratory per week.
