Description

Prerequisites: BIOL 1311, BIOL 1111L, BIOL 1322, BIOL 1122L
This is practical, hands-on, technical, and problem-solving,laboratory-centerd course. Because of the nature and level of the course, the student must develop a finite number of core laboratory competencies. This course includes historical perspectives, cell structure and function, microbial genetics, infectious disease, immunology, distribution, physiology, methods for detection, identification, classification, sterilization and disease control of microorganisms.
