    Description

    This course provides teacher candidates with a historical overview of children’s literature and introduces key genres including traditional literature, modern fiction, picture books, poetry, and storytelling. Emphasis is placed on the critical evaluation of literature for instructional use, including literary quality, cultural relevance, and developmental appropriateness. Candidates will explore strategies for integrating children’s literature into diverse educational settings to foster a love of reading and support literacy development.
