    Description

This course equips teacher candidates with the knowledge and strategies needed to support language and literacy development in middle and high school settings. Emphasis is placed on reading in the content areas, with a focus on instructional methods that enhance students’ comprehension and engagement with discipline-specific texts. Candidates will explore how reading, writing, speaking, and listening support learning across subjects, and how to adapt instruction for culturally diverse and exceptional learners. The course fosters connections between literacy theory and classroom practice to promote academic achievement across the curriculum.
